These are the last of what I have found so far. I will probably not post any more comics until I get some sort of feedback from folks.

Thanks.

New Comma Cartoon Sketch

I drew this on sunday in my moleskine notebook. Perhaps I will finalize this in a few weeks.

Personal comics

These comics detail my own anxiety and gives you a peek at domestic "brick-throwing."

More Comics

These comics are a part of an on-going story I am working on detailing my "spiritual journey." It will probably not end the way people may think, I hope. We shall see. Only, try not to judge me based on where this section of the story ends.

"A Little Poetry"

I wrote these today on my lunch break. Enjoy.

-START-

Good morning to the evening air
Trapped inside the blanket warmth of bedrooms

the cool wood cracks under my heavy slow steps
i scratch

the coffee is yet unmade
like a lazy piece of stone before the chisel
of someone...else

soon the dog will activate suddenly
from the whine of a tiny motor crushing
burnt beans to powerful dust
a beautiful drug's first breath
replacing evening air

-J.F. IS DEAD-
(a tribute to the poetic style of Stephen Crane)

A fat man died today
And stood before the gates of golden Nirvana.
He was met by two nude men who smiled and
dripped with creamy pearls of sweat.
"Welcome, friend!" they beamed and went to hug him.
The fat man screamed and ran
Panicked into a forest of dark wood,
Gnashing his teeth.

What's in a Name?

It occured to me while walking in the hot hot heat of West Michigan before a Thunderstorm, that my Blog, when abreviated is KKK: HIT BFL. This sounds horrendous and I did not mean it to be a secret message encouraging a racist American organization to beat up on the Brazillian Football (soccar) League!

So, by way of covering myself, here is my explanation:

Krazy Kat was and continues to be, one of the best syndicated examples of artful zany comics. George Herriman was a genius, both lyrically and artistically. This comic was a favorite of such greats as Piccaso, e.e. cummings, and Charles Schultz. His formula for using the same gag multiple times, as well as a beautifully crafted environment, have continued to be inspriational to current comic creators like Tony Millionare.

The Kinetik part comes from the central gag of the strip: the sado-masochistic relationship between Krazy Kat and Ignatz the Mouse; in which Ignatz is constantly throwing bricks at Krazy Kat, who in turn take the attention and pain as signs of Ignatz's love. The whole comic frollics in what Nietzsche termed the transvaluation of values: the mouse attacks the cat, the dog (offisa pup) protects the cat, pain equals pleasure, etc. The comic's energy and love of violence was a predecessor and contemporary of Warner Brother's Buggs and Daffy. I included the incorrect "k" in homage to Herriman's love of vernacular spellings of words.

How I Threw and Brick and Fell in Love. Well, in short, it's about my love of comics, life and my relationship with Kristin, my wife. Reasons are as follows:

1. Love of comics: Loving comics is like getting hit by a brick by society. Even today, people still look down on comics. I love comics and am willing to take the social clay of those who think it is juvanile.

2. Life: Come on...no really, do I have to explain this one?

3. My relationship with Kristin: sometimes bricks (not literal) are involved in a relationship: i.e. walls that are built and must be torn down, verbal outbursts, accidents, suffering through a television show or movie to be next to the one you love... These are put a few examples of the bricks in our relationship. However, through the pain of these events, I find that I love Kristin more and more. It's at the breaking point where we see each other without niceties, in the raw pain needed to be seen to be healed. There have been walls Kristin has broken down of mine that hurt like hell to have destroyed, but I have found better uses for the bricks...like building a space for us to be at peace.

So I hope this makes some sense. I'm sure some will scratch their head, or think it was all a useless thing to post, but here it is.

Take it, or leave it.
